Advair is used to help prevent asthma symptoms and to treat COPD. It’s meant to be used twice daily as a maintenance treatment. After inhaling, patients should rinse their mouth with water. The usual dosage for adults is 250/50 twice daily and the maximum recommended dosage is 500/50 twice daily.
Improvement in asthma symptoms can be seen in as little as 30 minutes, but some patients need to wait a week before they experience the maximum benefit. The device should be discarded a month after the foil moisture seal has been removed or when the dose indicator reads “0″.
The most common side effects include
- upper respiratory tract infections (like the common cold)
- headache
- sore throat
- bronchitis
- coughing
- nausea
- vomiting.
